Reflections
After doing this exercise I’ve realized how habitual checking my IG and FB feed has become. Its just mindless, like a zombie. I don’t want to be a screen zombie.
Thursday
Morning
My social media usage usually starts pretty early in the morning, while I am feeding the baby (it keeps me awake).
*Facebook: usually absolutely nothing going on. Why am I even checking?
*Check the Instagram, need to unfollow some companies that post way too much, need to shop for some baby stuff
*Google +: One of my classes is heavily relying on Google+ for posting. Checked it and made comments on people’s posts.
Afternoon
*Facebook: post to a breast feeding group that I am part of about why my baby might be spitting up so much. I then post to a body image support group about what is going on tonight.
*Facebook: I see this Meme, shared it on FB because I love everything Justin Timberlake.
A friend of mine then texted me an even better meme (after seeing my post on FB), and I had to share it on FB and Instagram
Evening
*Google +: Did some more posting and set up circles for the class and my team I am leading.
*Youtube: I was able to watch my husband’s band play a live webcast show from my own home!!
His band starts at 1:02
*Pinterest: Made a pinterest board to start gathering links for my other class, for which we’ll be writing an ebook together.
*Instagram: Before I went to bed I checked my IG one more time and saw that one of my favorite Baby brands randomly followed me!! Burts Bees Baby makes some pretty stinking cute clothes and products that I adore. I even screen capped it out of delight.
Friday
Morning
*Facebook and Instagram – the usual morning check, its out of habit really
Lunch
*Posted about my new hair color on IG
Afternoon
*Twitter: I use twitter as a place to make comments that would probably make people mad on Facebook. Or just a place i can post where arguments won’t happen, because none of my friends use twitter. Observere
*Facebook: Posted about new hair color
*Google Hangout: My Eng 212 used google hangouts to hold class! It was pretty fun
Evening
*Instagram: mindless scrolling
*Facebook: Shared this video
Awesome post. When you say you were setting up a G+ account for the team you are leading, do you mean that you have already formed a Comms 351 team?? Or something else?
It was for my Eng 212 course, but now that I have used it, it might not be a bad place for this course as well.
